Mrs Fola Akande is a Non- Executive Director at Keystone Bank Limited with over 25 years of experience in navigating the complexities of legal, regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance across various local and international markets.

She started her career at First Interstate Merchant Bank Nigeria and Indo-Nigeria Merchant Bank Limited from 1987- 1997 before working at Shell Nigeria as Human Resources Adviser. In 1999, she joined Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, where she served as Head of Legal & Compliance, Company Secretary, and Head of Financial Crime Risk. In 2019, she became the Director of Cadbury Ghana Ltd (CGL) and Chief Counsel West Africa/Company Secretary for Cadbury Nigeria PLC.

Fola holds a Master of Law (LL.M) from the University of Lagos and a BL from the Nigerian Law School. She completed her LL.B at the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) following her LL.B Intermediate studies at Holborn Law Tutors. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK (MCIArb), and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (ICSAN). She is also an accredited board and corporate governance evaluator.

Beyond her professional life, Akande is actively involved in corporate social responsibility initiatives. She serves as Vice Chairman of the Eye Bank for Restoring Sight Nigeria and is a mentor to young professionals through the Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR) program. Her dedication to social causes and mentoring reflects her commitment to empowering future leaders.
