ABDUL-RAHMAN ESENE

Abdul-Rahman is a Non- Executive Director at Keystone Bank Limited with over 43 years of experience in Banking, investment management, corporate finance, and advisory services. Currently, he is the Director at Afrinvest, where he oversees critical financial and investment strategies.

He began his career at Northern Nigeria Investment Ltd. (NNIL)where he rose through the ranks from Senior Investment Executive to Head of Investment Supervision. In 1987, he joined International Merchant Bank (IMB), Lagos, where he advanced to senior roles, including Deputy Head of Treasury and Money Market, Area Manager of Port Harcourt, and Head of International Operations. He later joined FSB International Bank Plc., In 2004, where he served as the Managing Director and CEO. In 2006 he moved to Fidelity Bank Plc, where he served as an Executive Director.

Abdul holds a BSc. in Accounting and Finance from Wake Forest University, an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Sam Houston State University, A diploma in Loan Administration from Royal Institute of Public Administration, London. He has attended numerous professional courses at prestigious institutions such as Oxford University, London Business School, Trinity College Dublin, Euromoney, London, Cambridge University, Uk, London Business School, Eximbank, Washington, DC, USA, and MIT Sloan School of Management, where he recently completed a program on Artificial Intelligence and its implications for business strategy.

Throughout his career, he has effectively fulfilled roles as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Bank of the North, Kano.(Alternate Director), Guinea Insurance Limited, Lagos, Arewa Textiles Limited and United Nigeria Textiles Limited, Kaduna, Zamfara Textiles Limited, Gusau, Northern Nigerian Flour Mills, Kano, Critall-Hope Nigeria Limited, Lagos, Ashaka Cement Co., Ltd, Bauchi, and Yamaha Manufacturing Ltd., Lagos

He is a member of the British Institute of Directors and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, which reflect his commitment to upholding the highest standards of corporate governance and business ethics.
