In line with a new Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulation, Keystone Bank will be updating the way we send notifications for cheque deposits.
Previously, cheque deposit alerts were sent immediately after lodgment, even before the cheque was cleared. This sometimes created confusion, as it could appear that funds were available for use before they had been processed.
You will now receive a cheque deposit notification only after the cheque has cleared and the funds have been credited to your available balance.
If a cheque is returned unpaid, you will also receive a clear notification.
All banks in Nigeria will be using a standardized alert format for consistency.
This change helps protect customers and businesses from fraud.
Your account balance will now reflect the true available amount at all times.
